FAQ for contributors

Are there any prerequisites to install/contribute to BEMServer?

No prerequisites exist to install BEMServer, but you should have some basic knowledge in IT. We nevertheless strongly recommend to have knowledge in Python, docker. Additionally, the installation has only been tested on Debian 9 machines.
The installation procedure will guide through the installation of an Apache Jena instance (through Docker), SQLite and HDF5 handlers. If you have some expertise with these tools, skip the parts related.
Python developers can contribute to BEMServer without any constraints.
